Mid October flight to Philadelphia from TYS. Left before sunrise and the sun came up as we were passing over West Virginia at 31,000 feet.

Early October brings cool weather, and cool weather brings low ceilings. These two photos are of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in early October while flying from CLT to TYS. The picture to the right is of Mt LeConte. Below is Mt. Camerer, I think. The clouds were low that day but the mountains snuck up just above.
